Join the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults and 7-time Tour de France champion and cancer survivor, Lance Armstrong, for a day of cycling, running and walking to celebrate a decade of helping young adults fight cancer.

On Saturday, October 27th, the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults will host 10 - THE RACE in Howard County to recognize young adults in Maryland, and throughout the country, who choose a life of opportunity when faced with cancer.

10 - THE RACE
will embrace this concept of using sport to overcome cancer and celebrate survivorship with a day of cycling, running and walking. Consisting of a series of multi-distance bike rides, a timed (clock at the finish line) run/walk and children-friendly bike ride/run, 10 - THE RACE will have an event for all levels of athletes. All events will start and finish in the beautiful Symphony Woods at Merriweather Post Pavilion in downtown Columbia, MD.

10 - THE RACE DETAILS:

Location: Symphony Woods at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Dowtown Columbia, MD

  • 8:30 AM:  Ulman 10 Year 5K Run/Walk - $25
    - A scenic and challenging course throughout Symphony Woods and Downtown Columbia
  • 9:30 AM:  Ulman 10 Year Kid's Fun Run - FREE
    - Contained within the grounds of Merriweather Post Pavilion
  • 8:15 AM:  Ulman 10 Year 20 Mile Bike Ride - $50
    - A scenic and challenging course that starts and finishes in Downtown Columbia at Merriweather Post Pavilion and travels out Homewood Road over  the HILLS of Howard County.
  • 8:00 AM:  Ulman 10 Year Metric Century (63 Mile) Bike Ride - $50
    - A scenic and challenging course that starts and finishes in Downtown Columbia at Merriweather Post Pavilion and travels out Homewood Road over  the HILLS of Howard County.

    Registration:  On-line registration is available and powered by active.com.  You may registrer as an individual or as part of a team.  During your registration process, you will have the opportunity to enter your team name.  You may also register by completing a registration form and faxing or mailing in with a check as payment.

    Registration Packet Pick-up / Late Registration:  We will being distributing registration packets and race #'s for 10 - THE RACE at the following times and location.  Fundraising awards may also be picked up.  Late registration is also available during these times.  On-line regisration closes October 25, 2007 at 2:59 AM Eastern Standard Time.  There WILL BE race day registration starting at 6:30 AM.

    Begining at 6:30 am on October 27, 2007 at Merriweather Post Pavilion

    Fundraising:  We invite all participants to participate in 10 - THE CHALLENGE to help us RAISE $100,000 to enhance the lives of young adults fighting cancer.  Depending on fundraising levels, 10 - THE CHALLENGE participants will be eligible to meet Lance Armstrong and receive commemorative 10 - THE EVENT apparel!

    Raise $250 and receive:  
  • Custom 10 – THE EVENT cycling jersey or running tech tee (participant’s choice)

    Raise $500 and receive:

    Raise $1,000 and receive:

    Raise $2,500 and receive:

    Raise $5,000 and receive:
  • Custom 10 – THE EVENT cycling jersey or running tech tee (participant’s choice)

    Signed Lance Armstrong item (e.g., Sports Illustrated Magazine)
